RECIPE INGREDIENTS

2 cups all-purpose flour

2 teaspoons baking powder

2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup honey

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 1/2 cups apples, peeled, cored, and cut into 1/2-inch cubes

Vanilla Glaze:

1 tablespoon melted butter

1/2 cup powdered sugar

1 tablespoon milk

1/4 tsp vanilla extract

 

 

DIRECTIONS ON HOW TO BAKE HOMEMADE APPLE BREAD

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F. Grease and line a standard-size loaf pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. Set aside.
  3. Whisk together applesauce, eggs, vanilla, brown sugar, honey, and vegetable oil together  in a large mixing bowl.
  4. Whisk vigorously until mixture is completely uniform.
  5. Add dry ingredients and whisk gently until just combined. Avoiding overmixing.
  6.  Fold in apple pieces.
  7. Transfer batter to prepared loaf pan and bake until a toothpick inserted comes out clean, about 1 hour and 20 minutes.
  8. Allow to cool completely before serving
  9. Whisk glaze ingredients together until smooth and drizzle over top of bread. Slice and serve
