How to prepare Akple

Apkle is a popular stable food prepared and eaten in Ghana.

It is an amazing dish which is easy to make and in less than 45 mins, you can have it served at the comfort of your home.

You can serve with Fetri detsi, Shito, Groundnut soup, Ayoyo soup, Ademe detsi, Aborbi tadi, Hot pepper sauce, Palava 

 

 

RECIPE INGREDIENTS

2 cups Corn flour

3 teaspoons Salt

500 mls Water + more if needed

 

 

DIRECTIONS ON HOW TO PREPARE AKPLE

Ground dry maize into a smooth powder using a miller/ blender or you can as well send it to a corn mill.

Place a cooking pot on a medium heat and pour two cups of water into it

Allow the water to boil and add salt

Pour  the corn flour into the boiling water in bits to ensure there is consistency and stir continuously using a spatula.If you’ll use cassava dough, mix desired amount in warm water and add to the mixture.

Stir the mixture continuously to ensure a uniform and consistent paste is formed.

If the paste is too watery, add more flour to ensure you gain a thicker texture.

Cook akple for about 20 minutes. Then remove from heat

Mold it into serving bowls or storage containers. Serve warm
