Delicious Rock Buns Recipe

Delicious Rock Buns Recipe. The Ghanaian rock buns; also known as rock cakes or scones is a small cake with a rough surface resembling a rock.

It is made from a simple dough made of self-rising flour, baking powder, butter, sugar, milk, and egg is studded with dried fruit, rolled into balls, and baked. Sometimes oatmeal is added.

Rock buns can be served with any soft drinks, fruit drinks or beverage.

 

EQUIPMENT

Oven

Cake tins

Fine Mesh

Large bowls

 

 

RECIPE INGREDIENTS

1 cup All purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

120g margarine

50g sugar

1 beaten egg

2 tablespoon milk

 

 

DIRECTIONS ON DELICIOUS ROCK BUNS RECIPE

Pre-heat oven to 200˚C and lightly grease a baking cake tins with oil or butter

Using a fine mesh, sieve flour and baking powder together into a bowl.

Stir in margarine,, mix together till mixture resembles breadcrumbs. Add the sugar and mix well.

Pour in egg and milk, mix thoroughly making sure not to over mix. The dough will be slightly stiff.

Using two forks, scoop small molds of dough onto prepared baking cake tins leaving some space in between.

Bake in the pre-heated oven for 15-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

Remove from oven and allow them to cool down before serving.
