Homemade Salmon Croquettes
Salmon croquettes are basically a southern version of a salmon cake or salmon patty. It can be fried or baked. They are pan fried on each side in a medium sized skillet until golden brown.

RECIPE INGREDIENTS
1 can pink salmon
1 large egg, lightly beaten
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1/3 cup yellow cornmeal
1/2 cup buttermilk
2 tablespoons self-rising flour
1/8 teaspoon garlic salt
1/2 cup finely diced onion
1 large egg
2 cups vegetable oil
1/4 cup finely diced green pepper
DIRECTIONS ON HOMEMADE SALMON CROQUETTES
Frying Method
- Drain salmon; remove skin and bones, and flake.
- Add salmon, flour, onion, green pepper, egg, salt, pepper flakes and black pepper in a large bowl.
- Combine together until well combined.
- Add cornmeal to a plate and set aside.
- Shape medium to small sized patties then carefully roll in cornmeal and set aside.
- Add oil to cast iron skillet and heat until oil reaches 375.
- Fry croquettes until golden brown on both sides, about 2-3 minutes on each side, and drain on paper towels.
- Serve keep warm on a wire rack.
Baking Method
- After mixing, grease baking pan with oil. Place croquettes evenly on the baking sheet.
- Bake on each side for about 10 minutes on both side until golden brown.
