Mince Pie Recipe
A mince pie (also mincemeat pie in New England, and fruit mince pie in Australia and New Zealand) is a sweet pie of English origin filled with mincemeat, a mixture of fruit and spices.
It is traditionally served during the Christmas season.

RECIPE INGREDIENTS
2 cups plus more
1 1/4 sticks unsalted butter (50% butter/50% lard)
3/4 teaspoon sea salt
1 tablespoon sugar
ice water
Minced meat
DIRECTIONS ON MINCE PIE RECIPE
Preheat oven to 375˚ F (190˚ C)
Cut the butter into the flour with two knives or a pastry cutter, then add the sugar and enough ice water so the pastry comes together without falling apart.
Roll out the dough to about 1/4″ and cut into rounds to place into cupcake tins or small tartlet tins.
Put the mincemeat filling into a medium bowl.
Fill the pastry cases with some mincemeat. Top with a star or cover entirely with another piece of pastry.
Place the mince pies on a baking tray into preheated oven.
Bake for about 15 to 18 minutes until the pastry becomes a golden brown color.
sprinkle with a little sugar, immediately after being removed from the oven.
Serve with ice cream or tea. Store in an airtight container.
ADDITIONAL TIPS
Don’t add to much water if you want a tough dough. You could add an egg yolk instead of the water.
