Best Club Sandwich Recipe
A true American icon, club sandwich consists of bacon, cooked chicken breast, tomatoes, and lettuce sandwiched between a few slices of toasted bread with mayonnaise.
The sandwich is closely linked to hotels and resorts as a popular menu item, its name believed to come from its popularity at country clubs.
Club sandwich was also the favorite sandwich of King Edward VIII of England. Today, it is usually cut into triangles or quarters when served, and it is often held together by wooden sticks.
RECIPE INGREDIENTS
3 pieces sliced bread
Butter, softened
3 tablespoons mayonnaise
2 pieces bacon, cooked
Romaine
2 tomato slices
Kosher salt
Freshly ground black pepper
1 thick slice cheddar
2 slices turkey
2 slices ham
DIRECTIONS ON HOW TO MAKE BEST CLUB SANDWICH RECIPE
Under medium heat in a pan, toast bread until golden, then spread a thin layer of butter on both sides of every slice.
Spread mayonnaise on one side of one slice of bread. Top with lettuce and tomato slices, then season lightly with salt and pepper. Place bacon slices on top.
Spread mayonnaise on both sides of a second piece of bread and place on top of bacon. Top with cheddar, turkey, and ham.
Spread mayonnaise on one side of the last piece of bread and place on top of sandwich, mayo side down. Secure with toothpicks and cut into 4 triangles or squares.
