How To Prepare Ghanaian Salad

Ghana salad is unique and so rich, it can be eaten on its own, and it can be served as a side dish.

Here are some thoughts, tips, and directions to help you turn your side salad into the most delicious part of the meal.

EQUIPMENT NEEDED

Large mixing bowl

Foil paper

Chopping board

Egg slicer

 

 

 

RECIPE INGREDIENTS

1 medium bunch Lettuce

1 small size cabbage(optional)

3 medium eggs

1 tin Baked beans 

1 tin Sardine

2 Irish potatoes(optional)

3 teaspoons sweet corn

2 medium eggs

1 white onion

2-3 Plum tomatoes

4 medium carrots

2 teaspoons vinger/salt

2 medium cucumbers

Salad cream 

Salt 

1 tin minced beef

 

 

DIRECTIONS ON HOW TO PREPARE GHANAIAN SALAD

Under medium heat, boil egg and Irish potatoes in salted water for 5 minutes. Remove from fire and set aside to cool

In a large bowl, wash all the vegetables with vinegar and clean them.

Peel, remove the seeds from the cucumber and tomatoes and shred to thin stripes.

Grate carrots and chop cabbage and onion into desired sizes

Shred the lettuce into very thin stripes into a medium bowl. Avoid using wet lettuce for salad. Pat it dry

Pour baked beans and sweet corn can and sieve off the water. Place in separate bowls.

Form your salad layer by starting with red cabbage and lettuce at the bottom, some carrot slices, tomatoes, cucumber slices, onion slices and finally, sweet corn.

Add your salad cream, egg slices, sardine, baked beans and corn beef on the top of it

Get a cling film to cover the salad and put in the fridge or serve on the go.
